Vergés was born in Barcelona in 1973 and all his life he was involved in various artistic projects: as a young man he studied piano, guitar and bass, and collaborated as an instrumentalist in various bands. Later he became interested in electronic music and in 1994 he began to play techno at Sala Nitsa, later adopting the pseudonym «Sideral.» He is considered one of the pioneers of the club music scene in Barcelona along with David Nicolau (An der Beat) and Amable Sierra (DJ Amable ).

In parallel, Vergés was part of the indie music group Peanut Pie, of which he was a singer, guitarist and composer. With a style that combined pop and electronics, based on the “Manchester”, the band won the 1996 Rockdelux magazine demo contest, which allowed them to record an album produced by Viva Jumo, pseudonym of Enric Palau and Sergi Caballero, the creators of the Sónar festival.

Over time, Sideral became popular with the Barcelona public to the point of becoming a benchmark in the independent music scene, mixing techno with pop and rock sounds.

At the end of the 1990s he was a resident DJ of the Sala Nitsa, has also performed at Mond Club, Salsitas, Otto-Zutz, Moog and Razzmatazz (Barcelona), and every month he traveled to Madrid to play music at Sala Siroco and Low. He was also one of the first artists of Catalan electronica with international projection, by achieving a place as resident DJ at The Kitchen club in Dublin (Ireland).

Sideral’s fame led him to release two albums as a disc jockey: Darkhouz & Popotronic (2001, Satellite K) and Schizotronic Techno (2003, PIAS), in addition to performing at events such as Sónar, the Benicasim International Festival, the Groove Parade of Los Monegros and the Marché international de l’édition musicale de Cannes (2003).

Sideral died on May 19, 2006 in Barcelona, at the age of 32, the victim of an overdose. Days before, he was preparing a third electronic album and a personal pop music project, Sidereal Songs.

The group Los Planetas dedicated the song to him, You will have to have a path, sung by Enrique Morente and included in the album Layenda del Espacio (2007).
